5 Money-On-Demand Secrets To Creating Great Adsense Sites

Publish by: Webmaster Monday, June 8, 2009

The rage to milk money from Adsense continues into 2009. While there are many different ways to do this, it’s no secret Google is keeping a watchful eye on spam sites which automatically generate pages consistently on a daily basis.

Every now and then, Adsense ‘experts’ would introduce a ‘fresh’ new way of generating pages which Google “has not caught on yet”, be it article, directory or backlink generators.

While these software are very good at what they do, you can’t solely depend on them for long-term success. It’s a natural tendency that automatically generated content just doesn’t look like quality pages with highly informative, up-to-date content, but it’s my personal observation.

Most run-of-the-mill, ads-on-topfold Adsense sites lack substantial sections and deeper structures to be interesting enough to make visitors think they should come back to check them out more often. While generating as many pages as possible is crucial to get them indexed and thereby build substantial presence in search results, these types of pages should only complement principal content that reflects what your site stands for and the selling point it serves to maximize its overall value. There used to be a question that goes, “Is building Adsense sites a business?” My answer is: Adsense is secondary.

Of course, like you I do want Adsense to be my primary source of income. The secret is in emphasizing content and value, not Adsense ads. You may have felt resigned to say, “Does that mean more work?” Not really. Here’s another secret inspired by a quote from Albert Einstein: You can’t solve your Adsense income challenge at the same level of thinking.

Truth is: I have build a good number of Adsense sites, but my main Internet Marketing site which I treat as my core business earns more than some of them despite my intention not to make it Adsense-focused, all the more so when it has absolutely nothing to do with high-paying keywords and the tremendous amount of time that goes into keyword research…which leads to the next secret: create a site with a subject or niche you know you can continually express and expand on instead of getting stuck with a ‘lucrative’ keyword you may run out of ideas on in the long term.

This is as good as saying Adsense is not just a keyword value game; it is still the classic “How do I get and retain traffic” game, and traffic is not some scoreline, but real people with genuine interest.

eHow.com is an incredible example. It’s a free site that shows people how to do a lot of different things. The best way to explain the site is just for you to go have a quick look now. They have hundreds, possibly thousands of pages of content on all sorts of subjects and the way they get traffic to their site is through the search engines.

Every page on the site has an Adsense box on it and that’s how it makes money. They also have a Alexa traffic ranking of around 2000 which is great.

Of course, it doesn’t make sense to write or purchase that much content by yourself. eHow.com succeeds in getting its visitors involved in content contribution. There’s also a wikiHow to get contributors involved in constant update of a common topic or article.

For a start, here are suggestions on the type of sections you can integrate into a site:

  1. Lead capture page with freebies or incentives
  2. Article directory
  3. A ‘Contact Us’ page
  4. An ‘About Us’ page
  5. Forum: The challenge lies in the time and effort needed to build up momentum to encourage forum participants to write in
  6. An archive section of some kind, for selected articles for example
  7. Blog/podcast pages
  8. Reciprocal link directory
  9. Sitemap

It doesn’t take much to think of these standard sections. Even a products section makes your site look good besides providing another source of income, and then you replicate these sections site after site, niche after niche.

4th secret: Only sites with a general theme can afford to be massive-looking. Examples: Entrepreneur.com and Dogomania.com. Then you break the theme down into specifics like gathering them under an umbrella: dog training, dog hygiene, dog naming, dog psychology, doggy habits etc. Accurate targeting of Adsense ads depends on specific subjects as reflected on page. One thing to note is it is better that specific sections are inter-linked in some ways. If you run a site on everything about cancer, because “colon cancer” and “breast cancer” are not intrinsically related, visitors interested in one section may not want to take a first glance at another.

5th secret about content: write from a ‘consumer’ perspective instead of the ‘opportunist’ or “how to make money” perspective. What is it your visitors are looking to buy? Ads normally target and appeal directly to consumers. It’s pointless to put up content about how to make money with car accessories when there are hardly ads on “how to make money”. Stick to introducing car accessories and let the ads do the selling. If an accessory or equipment catch visitors’ attention and they click on the ads, you got Adsense dollars.

That’s about all the ideas I have at this moment. You should be confident now and maybe have some more new ideas I haven’t thought of. For sure, Adsense is a major income source you should seriously explore and make it big if you haven’t done so. This is one of those money machines that will make you money-on-demand pretty much for the life of Google.

How Does Article Marketing Drive Traffic To A Website?

Publish by: Webmaster Monday, June 1, 2009

One of the most common areas of confusion is exactly how Article Marketing works to drive traffic to a website. The answer probably has more levels than you would think, and a better understanding of how Article Marketing works can help you know what to expect.

Recently I received this question from a reader:

“I have asked several “experts” this question and not been convinced of the answers. My question is in relation to the tactic of using article marketing to drive traffic. If the target market does not utilise popular article directories as a source of information then is there any point in spending time submitting to directories? If keyword searches in article directories do not display information in the market niche can one assume that this format in not applicable to the niche?”

Those are some great questions–let’s go through them one by one…

“If the target market does not utilise popular article directories as a source of information then is there any point in spending time submitting to directories?”

Yes, there is–Although people may find your articles on an article directory, Article Marketing drives traffic to a website primarily through an increase in search engine ranking for your website’s keywords.

An increased search engine rank can build traffic dramatically for the long term.

For example, if a person does a search on Google, Yahoo or any other search engine for the keyword terms associated with your website, and if your website comes up high in the rankings (say #1 or #2 or somewhere in the top 10, which would put it on the front page of results listings), then you will receive more traffic to your website than if your site appeared lower in the rankings.

Put yourself in the position of a search engine customer–when you do a search for something on Google and other SEs, you tend to just look at the first page of results–rarely would anyone go through 5 or 10 pages of results.

If you get past the 2nd page and you still haven’t found the info you’re looking for, most people will simply figure that they need to use different search terms. They will start over typing different words into Google’s search box.

So, any website that shows up on the first page of results in Google or any other search engine will have a marked advantage in getting more traffic.

This is why people do article marketing–by consistently submitting articles on the topic of your website, you build links to your website and also are able to create a library of niche specific content that is linking back to your site (each time your article is republished, your resource box will be also, and that is how you build the links).

So, let’s go back to your question–”If the target market does not utilise popular article directories as a source of information then is there any point in spending time submitting to directories?”

Yes, because even if your target market is not doing searches on a particular article directory, they are most certainly doing search engine searches (on Google, Yahoo, etc).

Your article marketing campaign is meant to elevate your search engine rankings for your keyword terms, thereby sending you more traffic from Google, Yahoo, etc.

If keyword searches in article directories do not display information in the market niche can one assume that this format in not applicable to the niche?

I hope I’m understanding your question correctly, and please correct me if I’m not–but if you’re asking what I think you’re asking the answer would be “no”, because again the place where your target market would be doing keyword searches would be in search engines like Google. Whenever someone does a search for a keyword term in Google there will always be a result–your object is to have your website rank highly in the results in Google.

On the article directory itself, you will submit your article to the category that best matches your topic. Most article directories will have an assortment of general categories, and you would pick the one that matches most closely (for example, if your topic was ‘dogs’, you would choose the ‘pets’ category).

I wouldn’t worry so much about how things are arranged on the article directory itself.

The article directory is not the end of the line–it’s just the beginning.

The article directory is the hub from which publishers will find your article and then republish it on their sites (thereby building even more links to your site).

So, when you submit an article to a directory, you are not just building one link–you are placing your article on the free market in a location that is a hive of activity.

Lots of publishers use free reprint articles on their sites, and they go to various article directories (or do a search on Google) looking for articles that are on the topic of their particular website. So, putting an article on a directory is not the end result–the article directory is a means to an end.

It’s basically like placing a product of yours in a busy store where everyone can see it. The store gets traffic from many places–some of the traffic is just people stopping by spur of the moment, but other traffic comes from more targeted sources–from an ad the store placed in the newspaper or on TV.

So, bringing it back to Article Marketing–the article directory is the store, and the article is like your product.

You will get people looking at your article simply because they came to the directory and were searching on the directory for certain types of articles, but you will also get people who came to your article via a search on Google.

Using Adwords for your Google advertising

Publish by: Webmaster Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Adwords are an effective and simple way of advertising a business over the Internet which helps in reaching a larger expanse of audience without costing too much. Because of the vast popularity of the Google adwords, all you need to do is to paste an advertisement on the content and search sites of the Google. By this, you will be able to advertise your business all over the Internet and reach a huge number of potential buyers without the need to spend too much upon advertising. With a professional Internet marketing training course, you will be able to reach the potential customers at the exact time when they are already looking for your products or services, thus increasing your chances to make a sale.

Actually, there are millions of people searching for bargains over the Internet and Google advertising can help you a lot in reaching these people. In this way, you will be able to find market for your products or services and your advertisements will be place next to or above the relevant search engine results on the Google. It is a fact that only people who are really interested in buying your products will click on your advertisement and here comes the concept of pay per click advertising. In this kind of advertising, you only have to pay for the number of clicks that your potential customers make on your advertisement, rather than paying a huge sum for the placement of your advertisement. Internet marketing training course will also guide you through the process of studying your advertisement’s performance and to make the necessary changes whenever required.

As far as Google advertising is concerned, you will be able to select from a wide range of advertisement formats, including text ads, video ads and image ads. You will also be able to change your advertisement any time and you can also keep a track of the performance of your Google adwords by checking through your control center of the online account. With pay per click advertising, you can also customize your advertisements so that they can be showed only on relevant sites and at relevant places so that no unnecessary clicks are attracted towards them. For example, you can customize your advertisement to be shown only when a visitor from a particular country is searching for your company. Most customers will not like to buy from your company if you are situated in any other country and this means that they will unnecessarily click on your advertisement and increase the amount you will have to pay for your advertisement.

AdWords- the most inexpensive Internet marketing tool

Publish by: Webmaster Friday, April 24, 2009

When it comes to promoting business online, Google AdWords is the most effective tool to consider. It is also a very effective way of inexpensive successful Internet marketing. There are numerous ways via which Google AdWords assist in saving money in online advertising that include:

Use the keywords in the ad text
Show the seeker that your advertisement is relevant. Search engine like Google will showcase all the searched keywords or key phrases in bold within your advertisement if they are present. This will assist your ad to be noticeable in the crowd.

Keep the advertisement group key phrase or keyword list short
In place of having a solo ad group with large keywords list, make many advertisement groups each with short list.

Initially bid high
Google’s advertisement system determines positioning through CTR-click through rate and bid. To get high CTR, you initially require generating few clicks. Initially bid high initially so your advertisement will be noticed early within the search results. On getting high click through rate, lower down your bids.

Keep away from bidding wars
Do not waste your money in bidding wars for many high-volume keywords. As an alternative, enlarge your keyword list including specific keywords with lower search volume. Together, these keywords soon will reach the search volume of the expensive keywords. Your normal CPC-cost per click will dramatically fall via applying this tactic. Use the keyword search tool for expanding the keyword phrases list.

Use relevant landing page
For majority of the searches, never point the advertisement at your homepage. Select a landing webpage at your website, which includes keywords or key phrases from the search and in few cases, it is worth making a customized page that is not within the usual navigation of your website.

Separate content campaigns and search

Many individuals lose cash using AdWords while their website is swamped with successes from the content ads. Majority of the individuals do not realize that highlighting ads on the content network of Google is turned on through default. Either switch off content network or make separate campaigns for the content ads and search.

Set your daily budget more than Google advice
If you place your everyday budget too low then your advertisement will be showcased intermittently. You certainly do not want this. You want your advertisement to be displayed when someone looks for your key phrases or keywords. Control over your ad spend via other means like employing negative key phrases, keywords, targeting through region, using the exact matches pr adjusting the keyword bids.

How to Make Money Online the Right Way

Publish by: Webmaster Tuesday, April 21, 2009

Most people think that to make money online you have to join affiliate programs, pay for a high-end web site & hosting, or try to persuade people to join pointless programs. It's also very popular for webmasters to try and earn money using catchy subject lines about how you can make X amount of cash within X amount of hours. That, however, is NOT the correct way to make money online.

1.Relax and clear your mind. When you have accomplished this, think about some things you like to do. What you are most interested in will determine what your niche should (or can) be and in the end will prove that you can earn money doing what you love. In this article, our example niche is going to be sports; in particular, basketball.

2.Decide what kind of site you want to create now that you know what you want it to be about. You could write a blog talking about your favorite basketball teams, make a community website where all basketball-lovers alike could chat to their hearts' desires about the sport, or anything else you can think of that has to do with basketball. If you're the sales type of person, you could open your own sports store online or join an affiliate program for sports. However, the best, dependable source for money comes in from ads, which work best when there is a lot of content pertaining to your particular niche. Always remember...targeted advertisements make money!

3.Create your website. You do not necessarily need to get a domain name, but once your site gets more popular it would be best to have one so people know your brand. You also do not even have to spend a dime on hosting or a domain. There are many free hosting sites out there (110mb.com, byethost.com, & wordpress.com to name a few), and free co.cc domains as well. View http://totallyfreedomain.co.cc for more information on getting a free domain name. Doesn't cost a penny.

4.Add some content to your site. With whatever you have decided to make your site about, there is usually always some kind of product, service, or information that can help your visitors learn more about it. This is where the ads (and money) come in. It's time to monetize your site!

5.Choose an advertising site like Google, Bidvertiser, NeverBlueAds, etc. to put on your site. It will be up to you to decide which one you go with. The most popular, and promising, is Google Adsense, but obviously that is an opinion. Everyone has their own preferences. Add these ads to your site and pay attention to how the ads match your content. Your content is like the heart of the advertisements. If you write about basketball, they will display basketball-related ads. Same as if you were writing about another thing such as cars or fashion.

Finally, keep a watch on your site. You need to make sure your content is up-to-date and that you make any necessary changes when needed. If you have a blog, make sure you post at least once or twice a week. This keeps readers coming back for more.

If you want to increase the amount of views or visitors to your site, you could join a traffic exchange or use Google Adwords to have others display your ads on their sites. Adwords is not free so if you want to keep everything free, your best bet is a traffic exchange.

Also remember to keep your content all on the same topic. Don't create a site about basketball and then write about football. If you want your site to make it onto search engines to where people will visit your site and click the ads, you must keep the web site focused on basketball; since that is what your visitors are there to see in the first place.

Article Marketing Plan: a Guide?

Publish by: Webmaster Sunday, April 12, 2009

Article Marketing is a excellent way to get free Search engine traffic . The key is having a solid article marketing plan. You need to set a goal of writing and submitting at least one article per week to have any impact on your website traffic. You must follow through and stick to your guns and make sure you publish the number articles you have set in your plan for each month.

My article marketing plan calls for to write and submit 1 article per week for my fishing site, now some weeks I write more, but never less than 1 per week. One article may not sound like a lot but you are building links with these articles that will last a lifetime. Also quality and respectability are strong factors when writing articles. If you don’t have a goal to recognized as a expert in your selected “niche” then don’t bother with article marketing.

Article marketing is not a quick hit traffic generator, This process takes time and your website traffic increases will be over time. There are some ways to jump start your efforts by automation but you need to learn the basics before using these tools. But I can guarantee this traffic will be quality targeted traffic. I have been using article marketing for about two years now and my sales have doubled.

Now let’s get to the meat of my article and look at key steps that are needed to make your article marketing efforts successful.

#1 Identify your “niche” market. Do not waste your time starting to write articles until you have completed this step. The more specific you are when you identify what you want to write about the better success you will have.

#2 Create a keyword , keyword phrase list of at least 50 keyword phrases. These words need to be associated with the “niche” market you have chosen. I do not recommend you start out targeting single keywords, select keyword phrases about your niche that are two and three words in length. Concentrate on using keyword phrases that are two and three words in length. The reason I say this is because writing articles that concentrate using just single keywords are very hard to get listed on search engines. It is much easier to get listed with two and three keyword phrases. If you have a low advertising budget, like most of us, I would like to suggest an excellent free keyword phrase generator that is offered by Google adwords. This service is free and you do not need to deposit any money. Type in a single keyword that is associated with your “niche” market. Adwords will generate a list of two and three keyword phrases for you. Make sure you download or copy this list for future use when you are writing your articles.

#3 Start writing articles that use some of the keyword phrases from your list . Start out writing by inserting your two and three word phrases as you go. One thing about keywords or phrases is that you do not want to repeat the same targeted word or phrase more than once every 100 hundred words. Take for example, if I were writing a article about article marketing and targeting the phrase “ Article Automation” and the length of my article was say 700 words, I would need to make sure this key word phrase was not used more than once every 100 words and no more then 7 times total. There are ways to mix your phrases up to get the same ranking without duplicating your phrases; example instead of using “article automation” you could use “automate articles” and not be penalized by the search engines for excessive keywords. Remember concentrate on the quality of your article when inserting keyword phrase. It’s important that you get the attention of the reader.

#4 Create a list of article directories to submit your article too. There are some steps to this that I recommend you use because all article directories are not created equal. You need to build a list of directories that prioritized by their Google rankings. First thing you need to do is go to Google and type in “article directory” in the search box. The results will give you 1000’nds of sites to use in your list development. There are two sites you must put on your list right now and they are ezinearticles.com and searchwarp.com. I use a free Google ranking tool that is simple to use to locate each sites ranking. Type in the following keyword phrase “website ranking tools for Google” at Google’s search box to find a free ranking tool suitable for you, or just e-mail me and I send the link I use. Just a note when developing a list use sites with rankings of 6,5,4,3 first, these sites will get you some traffic over time.
